These terms govern your use of Medusa, a service operated by Medein LLC, a Pennsylvania domestic limited liability company (entity number 15413224). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
What Medusa does
Medusa helps you find images and pages that may use your likeness without your permission, using the reference photos you provide and face matching, and helps you send takedown notices. Matching is automated and can be wrong. You decide which matches to act on.
Accounts
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Organization accounts are managed by the organization’s administrators, who can add and remove members and see organization-level results.
- You can delete your account from the dashboard. See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted.
Your content and authorization
- You may upload only photos of yourself, or of a person who has authorized you to act for them, and you confirm you have the right to do so.
- You acknowledge the biometric disclosure before we process face data.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give Medein LLC a limited license to host, process, and analyze it, and to include it in notices and evidence you authorize, solely to operate the service for you.
User-reviewed takedowns
Medusa does not file a takedown without your review. Before a takedown is filed you must mark the match as unauthorized, pass a fresh identity check, and agree to a statement that is made under penalty of perjury. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you authorize. Knowingly false takedown notices can create legal liability for you. Notices are sent in your name or on your behalf as described at the time you authorize them.
No guaranteed outcomes
We do not promise that Medusa will find every use of your likeness, that matches are accurate, or that any website or platform will remove content, respond, or keep content down. Platforms decide their own responses. Medusa is not legal advice and does not create an attorney–client relationship.
Acceptable use
- Do not upload photos of people without authorization, or impersonate anyone.
- Do not use Medusa to locate, track, harass, or surveil people, or to suppress lawful content.
- Do not submit false or bad-faith takedowns.
- Do not attempt to bypass identity checks, rate limits, or security controls, scrape the service, or interfere with its operation.
- Do not use Medusa in violation of law.
We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms.
Billing
Paid plans (individual monthly or annual, or per-seat organization plans) are billed through Stripe. Plan prices, billing details, and cancellation and refund terms are shown when you subscribe and at checkout, and are still being finalized. Medusa is currently in private beta, and billing may not be active for your account.
Service limits
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may change, limit, or discontinue features. To the extent the law allows, Medein LLC disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for third-party sites’ actions. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
